Accolades Continue to Roll In for the Lady Dragons After Program's Best Season
PARIS, Texas – Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, three members of the Paris Junior College softball team have been recognized among the nation's elite after earning NFCA All-America honors for the 2026 season.
Sophomores Christi McGuire and Grace McDonald were both named NFCA First Team All-Americans, while fellow standout Kaci Gobert earned NFCA Second Team All-America recognition.
The trio played a pivotal role in helping guide the Lady Dragons to a record-setting season that saw PJC win 52 games, capture its second consecutive Region XIV Tournament Championship, and advance to the Final Four of the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series in Oxford, Alabama.
For McGuire, the honor marks her second consecutive NFCA All-America selection, further cementing her place among the most decorated players in program history. The power-hitting slugger delivered another dominant season at the plate, batting .414 with 29 home runs, 84 RBI, and 56 runs scored. She also posted an impressive .529 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Over her two-year career in a Lady Dragon uniform, McGuire established herself as one of the premier offensive players in the country, finishing with a .389 career batting average, 52 home runs, 165 RBI, and 136 hits.
McDonald's selection comes after a breakout season in which she emerged as one of the Lady Dragons' most consistent offensive threats. She finished the year batting .341 with 11 home runs and 62 RBI while collecting 59 hits. Her .453 on-base percentage and .613 slugging percentage helped anchor the middle of the PJC lineup throughout the season.
Gobert also earned national recognition after turning in an outstanding sophomore campaign. She led the Lady Dragons with 68 hits while batting .362 and driving in 66 runs. Gobert added 15 home runs on the year and finished with a .446 on-base percentage and .691 slugging percentage, helping fuel one of the most productive offenses in the nation.
The All-America honors are the latest accolades for a Lady Dragon team that continued to raise the standard for the program in 2026. With a school-record 52 victories, a second straight regional championship, and a national semifinal appearance, the Lady Dragons delivered a season that will be remembered as one of the greatest in Paris Junior College softball history.
