Preston Tabor is in his first year as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Paris Junior College. He came to PJC from the University of North Texas (UNT). There he spent three years working for the men’s basketball team led for one year by Grant McCasland and the next two years by PJC alumnus and former Dragons basketball coach Ross Hodge.

At UNT, Tabor assisted with player development and day-to-day operations, experiencing a lot of success with three consecutive National College Athletic Association (NCAA) National Invitation Tournament (NIT) appearances, including two NIT Final Fours and one NIT Championship.

He received his Master of Business Administration degree from UNT in the spring of 2025. Tabor also interned with The Guard Factory, based out of Dallas, where he primarily worked in player development with college and professional players.

Tabor played college basketball at the Division 2 and Division 3 levels before joining the North Texas men’s basketball program. A native of Graford, Texas, Tabor was a three-year All-State basketball selection and Valedictorian of his high school class.

He comes from a family of Texas high school basketball coaches. Tabor’s dad, Ty Tabor, is head boys’ basketball coach at Krum High School, his brother Zac Tabor is the head girls’ basketball coach at Amarillo Tascosa High School, and another brother, Quinten Tabor, is assistant girls’ basketball coach at Argyle High School.
