Bio
Daniel Torres enters his first year as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Paris Junior College following a year as a graduate assistant coach for the East Central University women's soccer team in Ada, Oklahoma. AT ECU, he served as recruiting coordinator, assissting the Head Coach with day-to-day operations, film breakdown and scouting reports. Torres mentored two student athletes who received GAC first team all conference honors: Tanja Baubock (GAC defensive player of the year) and Abbie Morris (GAC All-Conference First Team), as well as working with the goalkeepers. The Tigers excelled in the class room with a team GPA of 3.51.
Before working at ECU, Torres served as a manager and practice player for the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) women’s soccer team for two seasons. He assisted with both practice and game day setup, kept track of statistics during practice and games, and played in sessions involving technical skills to challenge players.
He also worked as an assistant coach for the club soccer organization West Texas Rush Soccer Club from 2019 to 2023, where Torres helped young athletes play at the next level while enhancing their technical and tactical understanding of the game. Coaching UPSL, Rushacm 3 won conference and reached Sweet 16 for nationals for the 2024 spring season.
Torres has three years of NCAA Division III soccer experience from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. In his three seasons as a Lobo, Torres started in 26 games and appeared in 39 as a midfielder. His accolades include receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in the American Southwest Conference for his performance during his junior season at Sul Ross State and reaching the Final 4 UPSL Nationals in 2023 with Rush ACM3.
The El Paso, Texas, native, holds a bachelor’s degree in multidisciplinary studies from UTEP and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration at ECU.
